INTRODUCTION
This blog includes my two junior high class observations. I did a 7th grade English class and a 7th grade math class for my observations.
JUNIOR HIGH OBSERVATION 1
My first junior high observation I did Mrs. Johnson’s 7th grade English class. At the start of this class the students were instructed to immediately get on IXL to finish up their assignments. They had 10-15 minutes to finish them up and then they moved on to listening and reading their story for that time being of the class. They started with reviewing what they had last read the class pior. They spent the remainder of the class ready the book and discussing the story.
JUNIOR HIGH OBSERVATION 2
My second junior high observation I did Mrs. Fogle’s 7th grade math class. They started the class doing ALEKS lessons. After that they moved on to taking notes. They proceeded to take notes most of the class. Then they played two review games for a test they had coming up on Friday.
THINGS I LEARNED
7th graders have way more energy than I realized.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion I feel like Mrs. Johnson's class ran smoothly. In my opinion it was because of the detailed instruction she gave prior to each of the student tasks. If I choose to work in a school setting this will be something I use in my classroom.
